I just wanted to drop you a quick note and tell you about my wonderful experience using Renegade Hoof Boots. July of 2009, I finally made the informed decision to take my horse barefoot. Oscar is an 8 year old OTTB and put in 4 long years of racing before I adopted him from a rescue. I board in an area which has very hard pack, rocky ground with hills all around. I knew I would need a good pair of hoof boots during the first year of his transition because of the terrain and the fact that he has worn shoes the majority of his life. I researched and found Renegades were being used by finishers of Tevis and with no rubbing or sores. Wow, I had to try them. I got my boots and they came with extra replacement straps and easy adjustment instructions. They were very well made and were every bit as easy to put on as shown on the website. I was impressed.
Well, it is 6 months later and I am still impressed! I just slip the boots on as I tack up and head out for hours of trail riding. I have not had a boot come off yet and have ridden some rugged straight up and down terrain with ravines and obstacles abounding. My horse’s hooves are doing so well I am going to have to remeasure him for a new pair as his hooves are now 1 size larger than they were 6 months ago. His performance is improved and he finally is landing heel first consistently, which would not have been possible without his Renegades. The attached picture is of one of our recent warm up sessions and shows his beautiful heel first landing. All I can say is thank you for your wonderful product and that I will be making another order very soon for Renegades in the next size up.

Here is a report from Hans in the Netherlands: Hendriena was my first customer who decided to use the Renegade Hoof Boots in the Endurance rides. She is riding class 3 which means distances between 80 and 100 km. Her horse Ghengis Khan is an Achal Teke which is 8 years old and she rides her horse normally barefoot.
This year was the first year that she started on the Renegade Boots and has been successful with them. Paardenservice is sponsoring Hendriena and beginning this season is active as one of the grooms. She became 3e at the ride on the “Ginkelse Heide” a 95 km ride.
Another Dutch endurance rider is Carmen Römer. Carmen is successful part of the Dutch team and rides most of the international endurance rides in Europe. Carmen has 5 horses, 3 of them are A classified. Carmen uses Renegade Hoof Boots. In the picture you can see Carmen with her 3 A classified horses on Boots in the National Colour of Holland !
Since Hendriena and Carmen are using Renegade hoof boots the Renegades become very popular in Holland and more riders are using them successfully in different disciplines.

Great boots for a great horse !

Sport’s Infatuated Gypsy, a 14-year-old black Tennessee Walking Horse mare, and Excalibur Annakate, an eight-year-old bay Morgan mare, have been training and competing in Renegade Hoof Boots for over a year with great success. Annakate notched her 1,000th lifetime mile by completing two days at the Valley of the Sun ride near Phoenix in late November. She finished the 2009 AERC season with 670 miles and a 100% completion rate, all in Renegades.
In early December, the mares achieved another milestone, completing their first three-day Pioneer endurance ride at Las Cienegas near Sonoita, Arizona. Both wore strap-on Renegade Hoof Boots all three days.
“Gypsy and Annakate traveled over the terrain, which ranged from deep sandy washes to rocks and gravel to grasslands, smoothly and effortlessly,” reported Bobbie Jo Lieberman, owner/rider of Annakate.
“With the gaited mare’s gliding action, the boots seem to give her feet a better base of support, and her feet are tougher than ever,” added Karl Phaler, owner/rider of Gypsy.

The last endurance ride I attended for the 2009 season seemed doomed when my horse Bo Tucker cut himself running in a turn out before the second day. The cut was on his left heel bulb at the hair line and was quite deep. He had just under 1000 miles for the season and I really wanted to make the 1000 mark on him. I consulted with Kirt Lander, Renegade founder, who had been conducting a bare foot clinic at the ride and we decided to boot Bo in strap on Renegades for the second day since we was not showing any signs of discomfort from the injury.
The 50 miles consisted on deep sand and rock. To my surprise when I pulled his left front boot the cut was almost healed! The wound had sealed and there was only a thin line marking the area where the cut had been completely free of any sand. I have ridden for three ride seasons with Renegades strap on boots and have always been pleased with their great fit. Now I also know the heel captivator can work as a bandage. Thank you Kirt and Gina for such a great boot! Cindy Bradley

Congratulations to everyone that completed this challenging ride!
Here are several photos from the 2009 Man Against Horse Race! Many riders in the horse race were using Renegade hoof boots on their horses. More and more riders are discovering the simplicity and easiest to use hoof boots – isn’t it about time you gave them a try for your horse?
If you notice photos of a shod horse wearing one Renegade boot that was applied after the horse lost a metal shoe. This allowed the rider to continue on and finish the ride!
Renegade hoof boot riders in both distances in the MAH Race this year finished in the top ten or came in first and even got best condition awards. Many of these same riders have been successful in previous years at Man Against Horse using Renegade Hoof Boots.
