Also known as the “Toe Strap”, this strap is the primary means of retention and tightening. Connects the cables, via cable adapters, at the toe of the boot. Best to keep clean, free of debris, and in good condition. A spare is sent with every boot order.

Renegade® Viper® Pastern Strap

This strap is the secondary means of retention, and connects the Heel Captivator around the pastern of the horse. Apply with a minimum of 2 fingers width gap between the horse’s pastern and the strap. Neoprene cushion is included and incorporated as part of the strap.

Pulley Button

Replacement pulley button (sold individually) for Renegade® – Classic and Renegade® – Viper® strap-style hoof boots.

This part retains the cable within the Heel Captivator. One complete part per quantity, which includes an inner half, outer half, and one stainless steel screw. Two complete parts are required for each hoof boot, four per pair.

Note: For the Renegade Viper®, there were two types of pulley buttons produced: generation 1 and generation 2. ALL CURRENT VIPER SIZES/CAPTIVATOR SIZES USE GENERATION 2 PULLEY BUTTONS. Older ‘B’ captivators (pre-2017) may need generation 1 pulleys — contact us or email us a photo of the pulley button slot on your boot if you are not sure. Contact us if you need generation 1 Viper pulley buttons.

You can determine exactly which generation Viper® pulley you need by measuring the hole diameter in the captivator. A 7/16″ (almost a half inch) hole uses generation 1 and 9/32″ (a little more than a quarter inch) receives generation 2.

Bonded Insole Gel Pad

**NOTE: This product is NOT a standalone item, cannot be ordered separately, and can only be installed in new boots at the time of ordering.**

This is a factory installed, non-removable Insole Gel Pad. Not usually necessary under normal circumstances. Will add about 60 grams or 2 ounces to the weight of the boot. Intended for foundered or laminitic horses to help improve movement and thus circulation to promote healing.

IMPORTANT NOTE:
When ordering, please specify in the comments section of your boot order which boot(s) will be receiving this Gel Pad. This item is for a single boot (two gel pads per boot pair).

Viper® Heel Captivator + Liner

Replacement Heel Captivator for Renegade® Viper® Hoof Boot. Comes with bonded Liner. Sold individually. Pulley buttons sold separately.

(Liners for Viper® captivators are not sold separately; they are bonded to the captivator in-factory, and captivator + liner are sold as one piece.)

Cable Lace Assembly

Replacement cable lace assembly is as shown in image (cable wire and roller buckle end). Each boot requires two cable lace assemblies, one per side, so if refurbishing entire hoof boot, order two assemblies. Every cable has a colored mark which references the boot size for that cable, as seen in the drop down “Select Size” menu. (Red marker dot is shown in photo.)

Renegade® Classic Heel Captivator Liner
