Scam Advisory: Fake Renegade Websites

Scam Advisory: Fake Renegade Websites

We’re aware of fraudulent websites pretending to be Renegade and attempting to mislead customers. They are using our images and logo in direct breech of copyright and we are having them taken down one by one.

The same parties appear to be running Facebook ads so we are also taking down the Facebook pages being used to do this as soon as we become aware of them. As of June 12 206 we are not currently running any ads on Meta so if you see one it is a scam.

Key Points

  • Bad faith actors are creating websites that appear to be Renegade sites with addresses that mimic ours.
  • The fraudulent sites appear offer 'genuine renegades' at hugely discounted prices but do not have any boots to ship.
  • The sites contain fraudulent login and checkout forms designed to capture personal and financial information.
  • Credit card details and personally identifiable information entered during the checkout process on those fake sites may be used for fraudulent purposes.
  • You should ONLY buy Renegade hoof boots from our authorised Dealers in your country or direct from www.renegadehoofboots.com

Fake Website Threat Detail

Most of the fraudulent domains were registered via Dynadot Inc and the sites are Cloudflare-hosted. Our technical team are working with Cloudflare to get the sites removed as we identify new ones.

The fake sites include a login page as well as a signup page. Any valid Renegade customer credentials entered into the phishing sites could enable unauthorised access into legitimate Renegade customer accounts.

What to do if you entered information in a Fake site

If you entered your Renegade login details on any website you now believe may be fraudulent, please change your Renegade password as soon as possible via our customer account icon top right.

If you entered payment details, contact your bank or card provider immediately and let them know your card details may have been compromised.

You should also keep an eye on your accounts for any unusual activity.

We are working with relevant partners to help reduce the impact of these fraudulent websites and protect our customers.

We’ll continue to monitor for scams that misuse the Renegade name - if you see one or see ads on facebook, please copy the link and send it to us with a message explaining where you saw it.

If you’re ever unsure whether a website, offer or message is really from Renegade, please visit www.renegadehoofboots.com directly or contact our Customer Care team via live chat.
