A quantity of 1 is a single boot, select 2 for a pair of boots. Each increment of 2 will be treated as a pair for initial strap setup (one left one right). If you order an odd number of hoof boots, please use the notes field at checkout to request how many of “Left” or “Right”.
Single boot sales allow owners of horses with mis-matched hoof sizes to buy individually, and for easy purchase of single replacements.

The sizes indicate the hoof boot sole dimensions. We recommend selecting a size that is about 5-10mm longer and wider than the hoof measurements after a proper Natural Style Trim. The sizing shows length first then width second.
VIPER VIVID™ hoof boots are a different, slightly softer material, which can provide a more cushioned feel for the hoof. COLOR MAY VARY SLIGHTLY FROM YOUR SCREEN DISPLAY.

Renegade® Viper Glow™ Hoof Boots are crafted from an advanced, slightly softer material designed to enhance shock absorption and provide a supremely cushioned, grippy feel for optimal comfort and traction. They are especially suited for sensitive horses or long-distance performance horses, who will most benefit from reduced fatigue and minimized joint concussion. Our glow hoof boots provide additional safety at dusk and after dark, and lightweight, long-lasting hoof protection for barefoot horses to eliminate the expense of metal shoes and allow natural flexion of the hoof for optimum circulation and healthy hooves.
Viper™ Hoof Boots have been developed over 20 years for maximum mileage, hoof stability and endurance hoof boot for barefoot horses. With competition-proven pivoting heel captivator design, a military grade cabling system and durable straps, the Viper™ Hoof Boot features a sleek look and bright colors, while the ultra-durable polyurethane used to make the Viper Vivid™ collection results in a more flexible material for improved shock absorption, designed to reduce hoof, joint, and tendon fatigue over long distances, while still providing a long-lasting boot. Deep tread grooves provide longer-lasting grip to bite the ground, and display the artistic talent of our hoof boot designer, Kirt Lander.
This hoof boot design was trimmed down using finite element analysis, resulting in a hoof boot with more robust tread which weighs around 15% less than the Classic, and offers more lateral clearance on both the Boot Shell and the Heel Captivator. A deeper Heel Captivator 'gullet' allows for improved pastern bone clearance. The inside of the hoof boot is texturized and the Heel Captivator Liner is bonded in place for more stability in action. The Viper™ logo and boot size are stamped large inside of each boot for quick and easy size readability.
When sizing for Vipers, allow a minimum of 5mm (and max of 10mm) clearance between the hoof measurement and boot measurement, to allow for variation during the trim cycle.

Renegade Boots are fantastic! I put them to the test on our last ride in Vermont through water crossings, deep mud, steep climbs, slick downhill sections, and wet grass. I found these a little while ago when I decided to go barefoot again, and I love them! I use them for rocky trails and turnout to help my boys hooves look and feel their best! They are simple to put on, fairly easy to clean up and the studs in mine haven’t budged an inch or come out like some horseshoes 🙄 Knowing he has these boots protecting him while I’ll be away at boot camp this year has help put my mind to ease knowing my mom can happily watch him without dealing with damaged hoof from thrown shoes, ice packing or bruising! 😄

These have been great! They have never come off or rubbed. They keep my horse comfortable and happy! Easier than another brand to put on and take off. My only "complaint" is sometimes I have very minor problems with getting the heel captivator in place but that's probably a me thing! I'm in love and don't see myself buying anything else now

My endurance horse was becoming notorious for throwing shoes on rides. I was over it and decided to look into Renegade Versa. A good friend swears by them so I figured it was worth a shot. I sent the pictures of my horses hooves to Renegade. They gave me the sizes and it was time to test em out. First of all…having the company pick the size is genius. No guessing. I put them on and they fit perfect. I applied the Velcro as instructed on the website. All the training rides went great. Then, this past weekend was the true test. 60 miles completed and the boots held up PERFECTLY!!! No rubs. No nothing! Water and hard terrain to boot. We will be pulling his rear shoes next and going all four in Renegades!! Great customer service. Great product!

700 miles of endurance and conditioning rides in the Renegade Viper Caribbean Dream Glow boots have convinced me they're a fantastic choice. Durability, comfort, and protection are all there, just like other Renegade boots I've relied on. But the Vivid material adds a noticeable difference with its softer feel, providing extra shock absorption that I believe truly helps reduce fatigue and wear and tear on my horse. My mare has spoken, and she loves her renegades! This is not our first pair by any means, but I love that there is finally a color matching our tack (teal)! This weekend we were finally able to go back to endurance rides, and completed a technical and hard-to-make-time ride in Arizona. It had it all, river crossing, rocky rocks, slick rocks, hard packed roads, winding single tracks, sand, and significant hills. I braved not bringing backup boots because I had confidence in our renegades. The boots did not budge! My highly sensitive and quick to complain mare has had zero complaints about these boots since they arrived, and the color is great.
This is my favorite color! Not only does it match my tack, it glows! We did our last endurance ride of the season in these and can't wait to do many more miles in 2025 with them!

Can I add customizations?
Yes. Simply click on your desired options from above and add them to your cart. Be sure to add any information in the cart notes - for example if you buy 4 boots but want to swap heel captivators on only two, or add studs only on the front boots, please provide plenty of detail so we can make the customizations to the right boots!
What if I want to buy more than one boot?
Just adjust the quantity for each size / model boot you need. Please let us know in the notes field at checkout which hoof the boots will go on, so we can put the velcro on facing the right way for each hoof.
If you buy a pair or a set of 4 we will assume that these are going left and right and put the velcro on as a pair or a set.
How long will Renegade hoof boots last?
Mileage will depend on the terrain, speed, and how the horse moves. On average, it is expected to get 500-600 miles out of the Classic model, and 600-800 miles out of the Vipers.
Abrasive rough terrain, or horses who drag their toes will likely get fewer miles out of their boots.
